Common Questions

How long does a psychological evaluation take?

The length of each evaluation depends on the reason for testing, if forms are completed prior to the appointment date, and/or presenting difficulties. Please call for more information regarding evaluations.

How much does a psychological evaluation cost?

Evaluation fees are determined by the type of evaluation (e.g., ADHD, autism), the assessment measures used, and client-specific requirements. Evaluation fees are fixed.

Does Tandem accept insurance?

Yes. We currently accept: Traditional Medicaid and Aetna

Pending: BCBS and Medicare

Does Tandem offer payment plans?

No. We currently do not offer payment plans.

Does Tandem prescribe medication?

No. As licensed psychologists in Texas, we cannot prescribe medication. If evaluation results suggest medication may be helpful, this will be discussed during the feedback meeting. If you determine that medication is something you want to learn more about, we will refer you to a psychiatrist who can assist you with exploring this option.

How can I pay for services?

We accept debit, credit card, and cash payments. We do not accept Care Credit, payments made through Health Savings Accounts (HSA), or payments made through Flex Savings Accounts (FSA) at this time.
Clients are required to pay, in full, for services prior to the onset of the evaluation.

Does Tandem offer counseling or therapy services?

No. Tandem does not currently offer counseling or therapy services. If evaluation results indicate that counseling or therapy services might be beneficial, a referral to a licensed counselor or therapist will be made.
